Dear Teller. Any comments on the planned (opening in 2010, to be directed by Jack O'Brien) Harry Houdini Broadway musical?
A couple of years ago, director John Doyle, for the Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd, placed musicians onstage in the roles of the characters. (I had the opportunity to see this production, and thought it was brilliant.) Your own (and Aaron Posner's) Macbeth (which I also had the opportunity to see) had some brilliant touches, too, in the form of the stage magic used in some scenes to show what was going on in the minds of the characters.
What I'm leading up to is this question: What sort of unusual innovation would you suggest for a Broadway musical on Harry Houdini?
